Lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi files case at East African Court of Justice challenging 2021 presidential nominations

According to ChimpReports, lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi filed an application at the East African Court of Justice challenging the nomination of presidential candidates for the 2021 elections. He argues that candidates were nominated without proof of citizenship, academic qualifications or party endorsement, and that the restrictions on public meetings and the arrests of candidates Patrick Amuriat and Robert Kyagulanyi made the process void. He asks the court to nullify the nominations and to stop the Electoral Commission from proceeding.
