Leadership Code Tribunal orders demotion of UPPC accountant for failing to declare wealth

The Leadership Code Tribunal ruled on Tuesday that an accountant at the Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation breached the Leadership Code Act by not declaring his income, assets and liabilities to the Inspectorate of Government in March 2023, according to the Daily Monitor. It ordered his demotion, a fine of up to Shs1.2 million and the withholding of his salary until he files the declaration. The tribunal noted he did not take part in the proceedings.
