Magistrate denies Lukwago bail, orders medical examination at Mulago Hospital

Chief Magistrate Sarah Basemere Ann declined to release Lukwago on bail, holding that the offence he is charged with relates to state security, carries a possible life sentence and is still under investigation, NTV Uganda reports. She directed prison authorities to take him to Mulago National Referral Hospital within 24 hours for medical examinations of his reported health complications. The ruling was issued electronically.
