Martin Nsubuga reappointed URBRA chief executive after board dissolved

Policy & Legislation Verified Uganda (national) 17 Apr 2026 Severity: 1/5

The Daily Monitor reports that Martin Nsubuga was reappointed CEO of the Uganda Retirement Benefits Regulatory Authority for a further five-year term, a decision he said was communicated to him that day and which Deputy Secretary to the Treasury Patrick Ocailap confirmed. The previous board, now dissolved, had declined to renew his contract citing poor performance; the paper says a court ruling and a presidential directive preceded the reappointment.

A national event, not tied to one district.
