Ministry of Education confirms Third Term starts 14 September and warns schools against unauthorised calendar changes

In a statement, Ministry of Education and Sports spokesperson Dr Dennis Mugimba rejected social media claims that schools would reopen in October, saying Third Term runs from 14 September to 4 December 2026. He said boarding schools in the Greater Kampala area must stagger reporting over two to three days, and that schools may only depart from the calendar with written permission from the Permanent Secretary.
