Ministry of Education says school study trips and tours suspended until further notice

According to ChimpReports, Ministry of Education and Sports spokesperson Denis Mugimba said the government had introduced immediate learner-safety measures, including the suspension of school study trips and tours until further notice and requirements that school vehicles hold valid licences and be roadworthy. The remarks were reported from a road-safety workshop at which transport officials also proposed stricter rules for school transport drivers.
