Ministry of Works orders mandatory 60-day inspection of Sinotrucks in Greater Kampala

Winstone Katushabe, the Ministry of Works Commissioner for Transport Regulation and Safety, announced that all Sinotrucks in Greater Kampala must be inspected within 60 days and their drivers accredited, and that trucks not inspected would be impounded. The Daily Monitor reports that officials linked the measure to the trucks' involvement in road crashes, and said the exercise would later cover other areas and other transport operators.
