Municipal mayor and councillor elections held countrywide amid low turnout

Elections for municipal and division mayors and councillors were held across Uganda, with the Daily Monitor reporting low turnout in many places, late starts and allegations of rigging and bribery. Biometric voter verification kits were used and the paper said many worked well.
