Vice President Jessica Alupo read a statement on behalf of President Museveni at the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India, in which he urged BRICS to consolidate solidarity and push for equitable global growth and criticised Western colonial exploitation and the 2011 NATO-led attack on Libya. According to the Daily Monitor, Uganda holds BRICS partner status.
