NRM chief agent Moses Byaruhanga says security not targeting NUP; NUP treasurer rebuts

Election Related Disputed Uganda (national) 18 Dec 2025 Severity: 1/5

Speaking on NBS Frontline, Senior Presidential Advisor and NRM presidential chief agent Moses Byaruhanga said security agencies are not biased against the National Unity Platform and blamed the party for its own confrontations with law enforcement. NUP Treasurer Benjamin Katana rejected this, saying the party had not broken electioneering laws and accusing security agencies of selectively enforcing rules against opposition supporters.

A national event, not tied to one district.

Disputed: Byaruhanga says NUP causes its own clashes with security, while NUP's Benjamin Katana says the party obeys the law and security agencies enforce rules selectively against it.
