NRM member files High Court challenge to party endorsement of Among and Tayebwa for Speaker posts

According to the Daily Monitor, NRM member Apollo Kibira filed an application for judicial review at the High Court Civil Division seeking to quash the party Central Executive Committee's endorsement of Anita Among and Thomas Tayebwa as flag bearers for Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 12th Parliament. Kibira argues the endorsement denied other eligible NRM MPs a chance to express interest and violated the Constitution, the Political Parties and Organisations Act and party rules; he asks the court to order a fresh internal process.
