NRM picks Fred Bangumya Rwakaizi and Stella Kiryowa as flagbearers for two vacant EALA seats

The ruling NRM said its Electoral Commission chairperson, Dr Tanga Odoi, declared Fred Bangumya Rwakaizi and Stella Kiryowa party flagbearers for two vacant East African Legislative Assembly seats after an internal vote among 36 aspirants. According to the party, Rwakaizi received 127 votes and Kiryowa 97. The seats fell vacant after Denis Namara and James Kakooza resigned from EALA on being elected to Uganda's 12th Parliament; the two nominees go to Parliament for election.
