At a press conference at the NUP offices in Kamwokya, party spokesman Joel Ssenyonyi said plain-clothes operatives and police had been picking up NUP supporters at night in parts of Kampala and Wakiso, and holding them in unknown places without producing them in court, following the previous week's protests. Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango responded that security agencies were only arresting people involved in criminal activity and those who led the protests.

A national event, not tied to one district.
