Uganda Governance Monitor
NUP legal affairs secretary Johnathan Elotu told the Daily Monitor that the party's four-member tribunal, formed on 29 September, had received petitions from 82 aspirants left off its list of parliamentary flag-bearers: 46 from the central region, 32 from the east and four from the north and west. He said hearings for eastern Uganda had been held the week before and that the committee would make recommendations to the party executive. Petitioners include Rubaga South MP Aloysius Mukasa, who was dropped in favour of Euginia Nassolo, and others who questioned the selections in Makindye West, Makindye East and Bukomansimbi.
A national event, not tied to one district.
