Matthew Bagonza, head of the PACEID secretariat, appeared before Anti-Corruption Court Grade One Magistrate Christopher Opiti and was remanded to Luzira Prison until 5 October 2026; he did not plead because his lawyers challenged the court's jurisdiction. Prosecutors allege he irregularly registered a private company that mirrored PACEID, and that he and others moved funds from a PACEID account into his personal account between 2023 and 2026. PACEID chairperson Odrek Rwabwogo and Bishop Patience Rwabwogo attended the hearing.
