International Relations Verified Uganda (national) 6 Aug 2026 Severity: 1/5

Parliament adopted a motion, presented by Defence Minister Kiryowa Kiwanuka, authorising a UPDF contingent to join the International Stabilization Force in Gaza following a US invitation, according to the Daily Monitor. Opposition MPs raised concerns about procedure, transparency and troop welfare, with the shadow defence minister calling the motion an 'ambush', before the House voted to approve it under Section 38 of the UPDF Act.

A national event, not tied to one district.
