Parliament approves seven of eight government loan requests totalling Shs8.2 trillion, defers one

Parliament approved seven of eight government loan requests, moved by State Minister David Bahati on behalf of the Finance Minister, for projects including the Busega-Mpigi expressway, oncology centres in Mbale and Arua, oil roads and a South Sudan–Uganda power interconnection, ChimpReports reported. It deferred a World Bank borrowing of USD 1,341 million plus grants for NUSAF IV, ULEARN and UCMID pending World Bank clearance. According to the report, the requests together totalled Shs8.2 trillion.
