Parliament on 16 December 2025 adopted the National Economy Committee report approving a Shs313.2 billion pre-financing arrangement under which China Road and Bridge Corporation will design and build the 87km Kayunga–Bbaale–Galiraya road, with government reimbursing it after completion. The committee raised concerns over land acquisition and compensation, according to The Independent.
