Parliament approves Shs422.26bn supplementary budget for Uganda Airlines fleet expansion

Parliament approved Shs422.26 billion in supplementary funding for 2025/26 for Uganda Airlines to buy two Boeing 787s, a Boeing freighter and two Airbus aircraft, according to an official statement cited by Nile Post. Opposition MPs including Ibrahim Ssemujju and Leader of the Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi questioned the lack of a detailed acquisition plan and the use of a supplementary budget, while Transport Minister Edward Katumba Wamala said more aircraft were needed.
