Parliamentary committees and Labour minister discuss Human Resource Management Professionals Bill, 2025

MPs from the Committees on Gender, Labour and Social Development and on Public Service and Local Government met the Minister of State for Labour, Esther Anyakun, on the Human Resource Management Professionals Bill, 2025, a private member's bill introduced by Workers' MP Margaret Rwabushaija. According to The Independent, MPs endorsed penalties for practising HR without a valid certificate, while some raised concerns about renewal timelines and the position of diploma holders and informal-sector workers. The bill would also set up a professional society to license and discipline HR practitioners.
