Corruption & Abuse of Office Single source Uganda (national) 28 Sep 2026 Severity: 1/5

Parliament's Public Accounts Committee (Central Government) dismissed Ministry of Local Government officials led by Permanent Secretary Ben Kumumanya after they could not answer queries from the Auditor General's report for FY 2024/25. According to ChimpReports, MPs questioned spending of Shs13 billion against Shs12 billion received and a Shs7.5 million charge on a Shs56 million transfer to the Consolidated Fund. Kumumanya said the official most familiar with the figures was on leave, and the committee directed the ministry to return later with satisfactory explanations.
