Policy & Legislation Single source Uganda (national) 1 Oct 2026 Severity: 1/5

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja told Parliament that government would not pay compensation to people affected by road works in Hoima City for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, saying the works stay within existing roads and compensation was not budgeted. She was responding to Hoima East Division MP Patrick Isingoma, who said affected people had gone to court and urged government to fund compensation. Works and Transport Minister Byamukama said the roads were existing gazetted access roads.
