Independent presidential candidate Nancy Kalembe, campaigning in Teso sub-region, called on mothers to join non-violent protests against brutality towards civilians and to demand a free and fair election, according to The Independent. She accused the NRM government of turning guns on peaceful Ugandans and argued that suspending campaigns in solidarity with arrested candidates would benefit President Museveni. The report says she campaigned in Katakwi, Soroti City, Serere and Ngora without interference from security.
