At a High Court bail hearing, former Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago told the judge his health had worsened in detention, saying Murchison Bay Prison doctors had advised him to wear a mask constantly because of tuberculosis risk. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions opposed bail, with chief state attorney Kyomuhendo Joseph arguing in an affidavit that his sureties were not substantial, that he was a flight risk and that his position in the People's Front for Freedom could allow him to interfere with witnesses.
