Minister of Public Service Gen. Katumba Wamala announced that government recruitment in the 2026/27 financial year will require clearance from the Ministry of Public Service, confirmed wage availability and approved vacancies, and that staff hired without authority will not be put on the payroll. He said the FY2026/27 wage bill is Shs9.708 trillion, up from Shs8.621 trillion.
