MP Ssemujju Nganda said the forces were high-handed, that most of the people killed were bystanders, and that those responsible should be prosecuted. According to The Independent, more than 40 people were reported dead after protests over the detention of presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi.

A national event, not tied to one district.
