Justice & Court Rulings Verified Uganda (national) 28 Jan 2026 Severity: 1/5

According to ChimpReports, a panel of nine Supreme Court justices began hearing the presidential election petition filed by National Peasants Party candidate Robert Kasibante, who challenges the declared victory of President Yoweri Museveni. His lawyer, Julius Galisonga, told the court the petitioner wants access to information on how the Electoral Commission transmitted results from district tally centres to the national tally centre. The petition also questions the voters' register, the biometric voter verification kits and the tallying and declaration of results.

A national event, not tied to one district.
