Supreme Court finds unsigned judgment in Kazinda case, asks parties to address its validity

At a hearing of the appeal concerning Kazinda's Constitutional Court petition, Supreme Court justices said one of the five judges who decided the petition, Justice Ezekiel Muhanguzi, had not signed the judgment. According to NTV Uganda, the panel led by Justice Lillian Tibatemwa-Ekirikubinza directed both sides to address whether the missing signature makes the judgment invalid, with a decision expected by 12 February 2026. Kazinda, who is serving a 25-year sentence for corruption-related offences, argues through his lawyer that the appeal was filed out of time and should be struck out.
