Tooro supreme council confirms Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma as king-designate at Muchwa

The Observer reports that the Tooro Kingdom supreme council (Orukurato rw'ensanju), sitting at the Rukurato Chambers in Muchwa, confirmed Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma as successor to the late Omukama Oyo. Babiito clan head Omusuuga Charles Kamurasi told the council a 21-member succession committee had selected him. Princesses Ruth Komuntale and Elizabeth Bagaya reject the choice, saying Oyo left a will that should decide the succession.
