Transport State Minister sets 30 August deadline to clear digital number plate backlog after factory visit

Minister of State for Transport Fred Byamukama inspected the production facility of the Digital Number Plate Programme contractor, after which the Ministry of Works and Transport said new-registration backlogs would be cleared by the end of July and all outstanding cases by 30 August. The ministry also said it would step up enforcement against brokers charging motorists for plates, according to ChimpReports.
