Two Luuka District engineers charged and remanded over alleged theft of road maintenance fuel

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit, with the ODPP and CID, arraigned Luuka District's Acting District Engineer and an Assistant Engineering Officer before the Iganga Chief Magistrate's Court on charges of conspiracy and theft of fuel. Prosecutors allege fuel worth Shs 222,396,900 from the district's road maintenance grant was misappropriated in the 2024/2025 financial year; a third suspect remains at large. The accused were remanded until 8 January 2026.
