UCC executive director warns against misuse of NUP-promoted Bitchat offline messaging app

According to the Daily Monitor, Uganda Communications Commission Executive Director Nyombi Thembo told journalists that Ugandans should not be excited about Bitchat, an offline messaging app unveiled by the National Unity Platform, and that misuse of it would attract legal consequences. He also said the internet would remain available during and after the elections.
