The Uganda Communications Commission launched the Central Equipment Identity Registry, branded Simu Klear, in Kampala, ChimpReports reports. UCC Executive Director Nyombi Thembo said any phone reported stolen would be blocked on all networks, and the platform lets users check whether a device is genuine and which numbers are registered under their National ID.
