Uganda Governance Monitor
The Uganda Communications Commission has lifted its June suspension on the sale of SIM cards to corporate bodies, NGOs and government ministries, departments and agencies, The Observer reports. Under the new guidelines telecom operators must verify company documents with URSB, NGOs must present permits and letters of good standing, sales must be made at operators' own service centres, and more than 100 corporate SIM cards on a network require the Commission's written approval.
