UCC meets over 4,000 unlicensed internet resellers and orders them to register

The Uganda Communications Commission held a consultative meeting with unlicensed internet distributors on how to formalise their businesses, and its spokesperson Ibrahim Bbosa told the Daily Monitor that more than 4,000 attended. Bbosa said all such resellers would have to register through an online portal due to open on 23 October, and warned the public that buying from unlicensed distributors could expose them to security risks.
