The Uganda Communications Commission issued a notice on 2 April 2026 directing telecommunication operators to block websites distributing pornographic content. UCC spokesperson Ibrahim Bbossa later told reporters at the Uganda Media Centre that operators had confirmed blocking 500 such sites, citing the Uganda Communications Act and complaints about children's exposure to such material.
