Uganda and Tanzania sign Joint Permanent Commission outcome setting 30 June deadline to remove trade barriers

According to the Daily Monitor, Uganda's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs John Mulimba and Tanzania's Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo signed the outcome of the fifth Joint Permanent Commission in Dar es Salaam. The two countries agreed to resolve outstanding non-tariff barriers by 30 June, reviewed EACOP and energy projects, and signed an agreement to speed up the Isaka-Lusahunga-Murongo standard gauge railway.
