Civic Space & Media Freedom Single source Uganda (national) 13 Mar 2026 Severity: 1/5

The Independent reports that the Uganda Law Society filed a reference at the East African Court of Justice in Arusha against the Attorney General of Uganda over the indefinite suspension of several civil society organisations. The society argues the suspension breached EAC Treaty obligations on good governance and human rights and was issued without due process, and asks the court to declare it unlawful and lift it.

A national event, not tied to one district.
