UPDF and DRC army commanders agree on joint Lake Edward patrols at Kasindi Port meeting

UPDF and FARDC commanders met at Kasindi Port in DRC's Beni territory and agreed on measures including joint patrols on Lake Edward, regular security and fisheries coordination meetings, and sensitisation of fishing communities, according to a UPDF Second Division statement reported by Xinhua. UPDF Mountain Division Commander Stephen Mugerwa called for a permanent coordination committee and handed over weapons and ammunition recovered from the Rweshama attackers to FARDC officials.
