The Daily Monitor reports that the UPDF, with the Regional Immigration Office in Mbarara, handed over five FARDC soldiers to DRC authorities at Kasindi, across the border from Mpondwe. The soldiers had reportedly fled fighting involving M23 and were intercepted by the UPDF in the Mukongolo area of Kanungu. A UPDF spokesperson said Uganda had hosted them since July and that they chose to return home without seeking asylum.

A national event, not tied to one district.
