UPDF Military Police launch nationwide traffic crackdown 'Operation Tekeleza Sheria'

The UPDF Military Police Brigade, working with the Uganda Police Force, launched a nationwide operation against vehicles without number plates, licences or permits, covered plates and illegal sirens, according to a statement by Col Chris Magezi. He said security personnel and government vehicles would not be spared, and that civilians found with military clothing in their vehicles could be prosecuted before a court martial under the amended UPDF Act 2025.
