UPDF spokesperson says Gulu clashes with Kyagulanyi's team were exaggerated, blames NUP candidate

Acting Defence Public Information Officer Col. Chris Magezi said on Next Radio's Big Talk programme that media coverage of the Gulu clashes between security personnel and NUP candidate Robert Kyagulanyi had been overplayed. He said security forces did not attack Kyagulanyi's team unprovoked and accused the candidate of holding impromptu rallies away from agreed venues. Nile Post noted human rights groups were calling for impartial investigations into the use of force against opposition supporters.
