Works Minister Byamukama orders nationwide safety audit of railway crossings and high-risk roads

Works and Transport Minister Katumba Byamukama directed his ministry to work with Uganda Railways, the police and other agencies on a nationwide safety audit of railway crossings and accident blackspots, and a review of school transport standards. According to ChimpReports, the directive followed a crash at Bobi on the Kampala–Gulu Highway that killed 14 people and a collision between a school bus and a train in Mukono that killed one.
