Works Ministry orders mandatory inspection of Sinotrucks and heavy dump trucks

After a meeting with truck owners, operators, dealers and drivers chaired by Commissioner Winstone Katushabe, the Ministry of Works and Transport ordered all Sinotrucks and other heavy dump trucks to be inspected within two months of a date yet to be announced, according to ChimpReports. The ministry also said drivers would be accredited and badged, and warned against overloading and spilling sand onto roads. The move followed a fatal crash on 3 August at Lwera on the Kampala-Masaka Highway.
