Works ministry recalls all bus route charts and tightens driver and school transport rules

Works and Transport Minister Fred Byamukama announced that all public service bus route charts were recalled, with new charts to be issued within 30 days after ownership checks and mechanical inspection. According to ChimpReports, the measures also include annual driver badges, two-driver rules for long journeys, closure of illegal bus parks and a ban on transporting schoolchildren at night. The government also kept its nationwide suspension of school study tours and night travel for learners.
