33 men arrested in Ntungamo Town carrying pangas and iron bars on election day

According to a charge sheet cited by the Daily Monitor, 33 men were found carrying pangas, iron bars, slashers and other weapons in Ntungamo Town on January 15 and were arrested after residents grew suspicious of them. Police allege the men had been hired as election guards by Ntungamo Municipality MP Yona Musinguzi; the article does not report a response from Mr Musinguzi.
