Budaka Resident District Commissioner Martin Orochi, in a letter dated 11 November, directed the district police commander to investigate 12 officials and several suppliers over allegations that Shs40m returned by two MPs for the Covid-19 response was spent without the knowledge of the taskforce and council. The deputy CAO told Daily Monitor the money was spent according to guidelines.
Disputed: The RDC alleges the funds were used without the taskforce's knowledge, while the deputy CAO says they were spent following stipulated guidelines.
