Electoral Commission suspends Butebo District chairperson and councillor elections

The Electoral Commission suspended the election of the Butebo District chairperson and councillors. According to a letter signed by EC chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama and seen by the Daily Monitor, the postponement was due to reports of serious interruptions to the electoral process; the paper reports these included violence and ballot stuffing.
