High Court in Mbarara dismisses challenge to DP delegates conference and Mao leadership

Justice Allan Paul Nshimye of the High Court in Mbarara dismissed an application by a group of Democratic Party members seeking judicial review of the party's May 30 to June 2 delegates conference. The judge upheld objections that the application was filed out of time and that internal party remedies had not been exhausted, awarding costs to some respondents. The applicants' lawyer said they would seek leave to appeal.
