Hoima Chief Magistrate halts recount, Kanyesigye remains National Female Youth MP-elect

According to ChimpReports, Hoima Chief Magistrate George Kunihira called off a vote recount sought by NRM candidate Diana Ampaire after opening the ballot box in court and finding it had been tampered with. The magistrate cited a missing seal record, an extra ballot book, a missing ballot paper and a duplicated serial number. The ruling leaves independent Mercy Kanyesigye as National Female Youth MP-elect from the 6 February 2026 election held at Hoima City Stadium.
